LoloBuy Size Guide: How to Check Clothing and Shoe Measurements Before You Ship

A measurement-first method for comparing seller charts, ordering the intended variation and deciding whether a warehouse item is ready for international shipping.

01

Treat the size label as a clue, not the answer

A useful LoloBuy size guide begins with a limitation: S, M, L, EU 42 or US 9 is not a complete measurement. LoloBuy's current Size Reference says standards can vary between Taobao stores and describes its conversion information as reference material rather than a binding rule. That matters because two sellers can attach the same label to products with different dimensions, while a familiar EU or North American size may be a marketplace variation name rather than a tested equivalence. Start with the seller's current chart for the exact listing and colourway. Identify whether each number describes a body, a finished garment, a foot or a shoe. Note the unit, measurement method and any stated tolerance. If the page shows only a letter size with no dimensions, the uncertainty has not disappeared; it has simply moved into your order. Do not let a directory card, product photo or automatic translation fill that gap. Save the live source page and date so the size decision can later be compared with the variation purchased and the item received.

02

Build three personal references before opening a listing

Use three records instead of relying on memory. First, measure the relevant part of your body with a flexible tape: chest, waist, hip, head circumference or foot length as the product requires. Second, measure a comparable item that already fits the way you want. Lay a garment flat without stretching it and record the points that matter, such as pit-to-pit width, shoulder width, back length, sleeve length, waist, rise and inseam. Third, write the label printed on that known item, but keep it separate from the measurements. The label helps describe the reference; it does not replace the numbers. LoloBuy advises using body measurements such as bust, waist and hip when choosing a size, keeping the tape straight and allowing for possible manual-measurement variation. Use centimetres for the working record even if you normally shop in inches; 1 inch equals 2.54 centimetres, and converting once is safer than mixing units across seller charts. Record whether a width is measured flat or around the body, because confusing those two can double an error.

03

Translate the seller chart into a fit decision

Copy the seller's chart into a small comparison table with four columns: measurement point, your body, your well-fitting item and the seller's stated product dimension. Do not choose the row with the most familiar label. Choose the row whose actual dimensions create the fit you intend. A jacket worn over a sweatshirt needs different allowance from a close-fitting T-shirt; trousers need workable waist, rise and thigh measurements as well as length. Check whether the seller measures the garment flat, gives a body-size recommendation or supplies only a height-and-weight range. Those are different types of evidence and should not be combined as if they were interchangeable. If a chart shows one number for a range, preserve the stated tolerance. If the listing and chart disagree, ask for clarification through the active order process before payment rather than selecting the more convenient value. Screenshots should include the product title, selected variation, chart and date. That packet gives the purchasing agent a precise instruction and gives you a baseline for reviewing the warehouse record if the seller later edits the page.

04

Choose shoes from foot evidence, not a universal conversion

For footwear, measure both feet while standing and use the larger result. LoloBuy's Size Reference recommends measuring later in the day, when feet may be larger, and notes that Chinese shoe sizing does not itself communicate foot width. Trace the foot on paper or place the heel against a straight edge, then measure the longest heel-to-toe distance in millimetres. Record the widest part as a separate number. Compare those measurements with the exact seller chart and read whether its length means foot length, internal length or outsole length. They are not substitutes: internal space normally needs an allowance, while outsole length includes material outside the foot cavity. Check sock thickness, intended use and whether your known reference shoe fits narrowly or generously. Avoid converting through several systems—for example, US to EU and then EU to a Chinese label—because each step adds an assumption. If the seller provides no width information and your foot is wide, mark that as unresolved risk rather than declaring that sizing up will certainly solve it. The warehouse can confirm visible labels; it cannot promise comfort.

05

Check clothing by category-specific measurement points

A LoloBuy clothing size decision is stronger when it focuses on construction. For tops and hoodies, compare chest width, shoulder seam, body length and sleeve length; a dropped shoulder or oversized pattern can make a standard shoulder number misleading. For jackets, also reserve room for the layer you will wear underneath and consider whether padding changes the useful internal space. For trousers and shorts, compare the waistband method, rise, hip, thigh, inseam and leg opening. An elastic waist shown as a range is not the same as a fixed waistband measured flat. For jerseys, check whether the listing describes a fan, player, slim or relaxed cut rather than transferring a size from another product type. For hats, use head circumference and the adjustment range. Each category should have two essential measurements and one preference measurement. If an essential value is missing, pause. If only a preference value is missing, decide whether the uncertainty is acceptable. This approach avoids requesting every possible dimension while still protecting the fit points that would make the item unusable.

06

Write an order record that survives listing changes

Before submitting the order, record the source URL, seller, item name, colour, size variation, quantity, chart dimensions and any concise purchasing remark. Keep the remark factual: select variation XL shown as 112 cm chest, for example, rather than writing fits like my usual large. LoloBuy's help material says an order modification may be negotiated while the seller has not dispatched the goods, but once the seller has shipped, modification is no longer available at that stage. A shopper who still wants another variation may need to wait for warehouse arrival, request a return and place a new order, with resulting domestic-return costs. That makes the saved order record more than paperwork. It is the last low-cost checkpoint before the seller acts. Confirm the live order summary matches your notes and answer any pending confirmation with the same exact terminology used by the listing. If a seller has several charts in one page, identify which product or batch your chart covers. Never use an image alone as the variation instruction when text can identify the choice unambiguously.

07

Understand what warehouse inspection proves

Warehouse evidence should answer whether the visible item matches the order, not whether it will fit your body. LoloBuy's standard inspection page says the service checks appearance information such as style, quantity, colour, size and model and provides standard quality-inspection photos. Its detailed rules also exclude size error from the standard inspection scope. Read those statements together: a photograph may show the ordered size label and obvious exterior details, but that is not the same as confirming every finished measurement or guaranteeing fit. Compare the tag, colour, model and quantity with your saved order first. Then inspect whether a ruler or tape is actually present before treating an image as measurement evidence. Perspective, a folded garment or a tape that does not start at zero can make a photograph easy to misread. If the standard set does not show an essential dimension, check which additional inspection or photo option is currently offered in your account and describe one measurement point precisely. Do not claim the warehouse measured something that the image does not demonstrate.

08

Use the return window as a decision deadline

Resolve size uncertainty while the item is still in China. LoloBuy's published 5-Day Return/Exchange Guarantee says eligible products can be requested for return or exchange within 120 hours after the order status changes to Stocked in, with the clock beginning at the next hour. The page also says seller agreement and resale condition matter, and that costs can include shipping to and from the seller plus a service fee. Eligibility and account allowances should be read on the live request page; the title of the policy does not make every return free. If the label is wrong, the colour differs or clear measurement evidence conflicts with the saved chart, preserve the order selection, listing screenshot, warehouse images and relevant dimensions before filing. State one remedy—return or exchange—and one reason. Do not remove tags, discard packaging or consolidate the item while the decision is open. An exchange adds seller handling and domestic movements, so compare it with returning and reordering the correct variation. Once the item enters an international parcel, correcting a sizing mistake becomes substantially less practical.

09

Run a final size-and-ship checklist

Use this decision gate before parcel submission. One: the seller chart belongs to the exact product and uses identified units. Two: your body and known-garment references were measured using the same points. Three: the selected variation and chart were saved before purchase. Four: the warehouse record shows the intended colour, label, model and quantity. Five: every essential measurement is either supported by visible evidence or consciously accepted as uncertainty. Six: any discrepancy was handled within the live return or exchange window, with packaging preserved. Seven: the item is legal for the destination and eligible for a current shipping route. Eight: you have considered the fit effect of layers, socks, fabric stretch and personal preference without presenting them as seller facts. Mark the result keep, return, exchange or needs evidence. Only keep should proceed directly into the parcel. For a new seller or unfamiliar category, test one ordinary item before building a large coordinated order. A disciplined size decision will not guarantee perfect fit, but it replaces a guess based on letters with a traceable choice based on the listing, your measurements and the physical warehouse item.
