Plan for metropolitan France, not a generic European destination

A LoloBuy France shipment involves several separate decisions. The marketplace seller controls the listing, variation and domestic dispatch. LoloBuy publicly describes purchasing products from Chinese channels, receiving them at a China warehouse, inspecting them and allowing selected stored items to be submitted as an international parcel. The logistics provider carries the parcel and usually handles the customs declaration, while French customs decides whether the goods may enter and what charges apply. A route visible in an account is therefore not a customs approval. This guide concerns metropolitan France. Overseas departments and territories can have different tax, duty and clearance arrangements, so confirm the destination regime before using any mainland estimate. Start a parcel file before purchase: save the live listing, selected model or material, source price, China-side delivery, payment evidence and the recipient's complete address and contact details. Then confirm three things independently: the item can legally enter France, the current LoloBuy route accepts its truthful category, and the description and value can be supported by records.

02

Separate VAT, customs duty and carrier fees

The amount paid for a product is not the delivered cost. Import VAT, customs duty and a carrier's clearance or advancement fee are different charges with different legal or commercial bases. Low value does not automatically mean VAT-free, and international freight may form part of the taxable calculation. A postal operator or courier may also charge for presenting the declaration or advancing an amount to customs. Build a landed-cost worksheet with separate rows for product price, China-side delivery, LoloBuy charges shown at checkout, warehouse services, packaging, international freight, parcel protection, import VAT, customs duty and the carrier's published fee. Do not count VAT twice if the checkout or invoice clearly documents that it was collected through a valid import process, but do not assume it is included because a route sounds convenient. LoloBuy's public delivery agreement discusses declaration and customs responsibilities; it does not substantiate a promise that every France route includes French VAT or destination charges. The current route terms, invoice and carrier notice are the evidence that matters for a specific shipment.

03

Do not budget from the old €150 exemption

Older guides commonly say that parcels worth no more than €150 enter the European Union free of customs duty. That shortcut stopped being reliable on 1 July 2026. Current French and European Commission guidance says a temporary €3 customs duty applies to qualifying low-value distance-sale consignments up to €150. France had also introduced a national small-parcel tax, but French authorities suspended that national measure from the same date when the EU duty began. This means shoppers should not add both charges to a current metropolitan-France estimate. The EU amount is not simply €3 per parcel or €3 for every physical unit. It is applied by tariff-classified item: the Commission's example treats five T-shirts under one tariff classification as one item, while a T-shirt and a watch form two items. The temporary measure is scheduled to apply until 1 July 2028. Import VAT remains separate, and parcels above €150 use the applicable tariff rules. Save the official guidance date because search results can still surface French pages written before the July change.

04

Treat IOSS as documented tax treatment, not a buyer setting

The Import One Stop Shop is a business scheme that can be used to declare and pay VAT on qualifying distance sales of imported goods not exceeding €150. It can simplify collection when the responsible seller or platform actually uses it, but a shopper cannot create IOSS treatment by adding a note, copying a number or asking for a particular declaration. LoloBuy's public materials do not provide enough evidence to claim that every LoloBuy France parcel uses IOSS. Look instead for a clear VAT line and tax treatment in the live checkout, invoice or route documentation. If the records do not establish that import VAT was collected, leave room in the budget for the carrier to request it during clearance. Never place an IOSS identifier found online into a parcel record. The identifier and electronic declaration must move through the responsible commercial and logistics systems. This evidence-first approach prevents two common mistakes: assuming a low-value parcel is automatically tax paid, or paying an unexpected request without first verifying the carrier and transaction.

05

Make the declaration readable and consistent

LoloBuy's international parcel agreement asks users to declare parcel value accurately. It says product name, quantity and unit price are used for customs clearance, and that the declared product name and quantity can be changed before packaging. Use that review point carefully. A description such as women's cotton T-shirt, leather wallet or USB-C charging cable is more useful than clothes, accessory, sample or gift. The product type, quantity and value should agree with the seller page, order payment, warehouse record and parcel manifest. Keep those records together in case the carrier asks for an invoice or clearer description. Do not mark a commercial order as a private gift and do not reduce the declared value to chase a threshold. LoloBuy also states that goods must satisfy the export rules at origin and the import rules at destination, with losses caused by the goods or a false declaration remaining the user's responsibility. Accurate data cannot guarantee release, but it gives the carrier and customs a coherent record and removes an avoidable source of delay.

06

Screen the item before irreversible warehouse services

A warehouse photo can help confirm colour, marked size, quantity, model and visible damage; it cannot prove French or EU compliance, authenticity or import eligibility. French customs warns that some online purchases are prohibited or restricted, including counterfeits and certain medicines, food, alcohol, tobacco, protected wildlife or plant products. Batteries, liquids, cosmetics, radio devices, toys and other regulated goods also deserve specific checks rather than a general clothing assumption. LoloBuy's public restriction guidance says the warehouse may mark mail-restricted goods as prohibited and that support may ask a logistics provider whether a restriction can be unlocked. That is a route inquiry, not French customs permission. Check both layers: legal admissibility at the destination and acceptance by the current carrier route. If either is unclear, pause while a seller return may still be available. Finish QC and the keep-or-return decision before removing original packaging or combining the item into a parcel. A lower-volume carton has no value if the product cannot lawfully travel, clear or be used at the destination.

07

Handle a clearance pause through the carrier—and avoid payment scams

A customs-related scan is not a diagnosis. French customs advises recipients whose parcel appears blocked to contact the carrier first because the carrier controls transport, performs or arranges the customs formalities and can see the shipment's operational status. Keep the LoloBuy parcel number, every tracking number, route name, declaration, invoice, payment record and the last dated scan in one folder. If the carrier requests a document, identify the exact missing item and respond through its verified website, app or published customer-service channel. French customs also warns that it does not contact recipients by text message, email or telephone to demand payment to unblock goods. Treat an unsolicited link as suspicious even if it uses official-looking logos or urgent language. Open the carrier's official site independently, enter the tracking number and compare the request there. Contact LoloBuy when the issue concerns warehouse dispatch, route data or the original parcel record; contact the active carrier for clearance documents, delivery exceptions or local payment instructions. Escalate to customs only when an official notice specifically directs you there.

08

Run a final France parcel decision

Use a short gate before paying for LoloBuy shipping to France. First, confirm that the address is in metropolitan France or research the correct overseas regime. Second, finish QC and any return request before choosing irreversible packing services. Third, screen every product against both French import restrictions and the current LoloBuy route rules. Fourth, make the declared name, quantity and value match the order, warehouse entry and payment evidence. Fifth, separate VAT, the temporary EU customs duty and any carrier fee in the budget: for a qualifying consignment up to €150, count the current €3 duty by tariff-classified item rather than by parcel or physical unit, and do not add France's suspended national small-parcel tax. Sixth, accept IOSS or tax-paid treatment only when the live records document it. Seventh, compare eligible routes using the final packed weight and dimensions, save the terms and keep a contingency for destination charges. Recheck official French and EU pages before every later parcel because the temporary duty is scheduled to change again. Build the product shortlist in FindSpreadsheet, model the full parcel in the shipping-cost guide and use the tracking guide after dispatch.
